What's New For the 2021 Nissan Leaf?
The Nissan Leaf doesn't see significant changes for the 2021 model year but remains a top choice for a safe, efficient, and value-oriented electric vehicle. It stands out for its exceptional efficiency and also has a wealth of safety and technology features. The Leaf is designed in two styles: the traditional Leaf and the Leaf Plus, which has a different mechanical configuration to provide more power and range.
2021 Leaf Trims and Features
The Nissan Leaf begins with the S trim. You can look forward to a stylish exterior with bold lines and an aerodynamic contour with the S. Under its hood is a 110 kW AC electric motor and a 40 kWh battery. Standard technology on the S includes an infotainment interface with smartphone pairing, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay integration. The S has e-Pedal technology and comes with several advanced safety aids, including pedestrian detection. The SV is the mid-level trim with even more amenities.
The SV adds aluminum-alloy wheels to the exterior. It also has fog lights. The cabin gets a more sophisticated appearance with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. NissanConnect is included, and you will also get a premium navigation system. The SL is the top Nissan Leaf trim. A surround-view monitor is included, along with leather seats and an Intelligent Driver Alertness system. An energy-efficient Bose sound system is another highlight.

2021 Nissan Leaf Horsepower
Two powertrains are available for the 2021 Nissan Leaf. The base level and Nissan Leaf get the 110 kW AC electric motor with a power output of 147 HP and just over 235 LB-FT of torque. This motor is paired with a 40 kWh battery. The Nissan Leaf Plus gets a 160 kW electric motor that churns out about 215 HP and 250 LB-FT of torque. An automatic transmission is standard.
Nissan Leaf Safety
The Nissan Leaf gets intelligent forward collision warning on all trims. Cruise control is included on the S, while the others get Intelligent Cruise Control. ProPilot Assist is available on the SV and standard on the SL.
