The new 2020 Nissan Sentra got an entirely upgraded body in 2020, thanks to a V-Motion grille that is more than happy to get in on the latest "big grille" trend. It couldn't have come at a better time for the Sentra, as people are excited about this sedan that moves 200,000 plus units a year in the United States. Our dealership welcomes you to check out the trims and new features of the 2020 Sentra. It's going to be a heck of a ride.
In the cockpit, more design changes give the Sentra more of a sports car look. Three round air vents are placed under the infotainment screen and above the sound system controls. The infotainment screen itself is designed to look as if it's floating off the dash - for better vision and easier access. This is a functional design as one vent provides heat or air to the driver, another to the front seat passenger, and the center vent to the rear of the car. The 2020 Sentra has three trims, from the base S, mid-level SV, up to the SR. All trims offer an array of convenience and entertainment features. Â
The S includes Intelligent Trace Control Cruise Control and a 7-inch touch screen. The SV has a standard 8-inch touch screen display with an impressive floating design, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant. A remote engine start system, Dual-Zone Automatic Temperature Control and Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition are other key features on this trim. The SR includes 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED fog lights, leather-wrapped shift knob, and sport cloth interior. Optional equipment includes an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system, and heated front seat, and a heated steering wheel.Â
All Sentra trims are driven by the front wheels and feature a CV transmission. The 2020 Sentra has one engine across its three trims, a very capable 2.0-liter with four-cylinders, featuring 149 hp, and 145 lb-ft of torque. That's a nice blast of power from a sedan in the Sentra's class.
The innovative frame and airbags have given the Sentra a minimum of four stars for the front end, side, and rollover crashes. Nissan takes great pains to avoid a collision through a suite of safety warning systems. Safety features include a front collision warning with emergency braking and adaptive cruise control that matches the speed of the vehicle to the front. Cameras and sensors provide blind spot warnings and rear cross-traffic warnings.
Safety is more than providing warnings Vehicle control is also essential. Nissan has developed an innovative system to prevent under steering and improve cornering. When the driver goes into a turn, the Sentra will automatically apply the brakes to the front inside wheel. This prevents drifting and allows for a sharper, safer turning maneuver. The Sentra also provides electronic traction control and stability control.
