Back in June, Nissan unveiled its newest campaign, Project Titan, a crowdsourcing venture that lets fans build an off-road version of Nissan's popular pickup.
Collaborating with the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization committed to serving injured veterans, Project Titan has asked fans to build the ultimate version of the Titan through Facebook. The completed truck will then be driven by two WWP alumnus through the tough terrain of Alaska with Nissan documenting the entire building process as well as the Warriors' trip through a series of Youtube videos.
And the first of those videos has hit the interwebs. Going through Phase One of the building process, the video shows all the updates and changes that fans have voted on for the custom-built Titan thus far including new tires and an adjusted suspension.
The video also previews the challenging terrain that the Titan will face once the fans have had their say. According to a Nissan press release, "The ruggedly tailored Titan will enable the veterans to take on the natural terrain of the Alaskan wild. With a maximum towing capacity of 9,500 lbs., the Titan's undeniable functionality makes it the perfect companion for the rigorous excursion."
And after seeing all the nifty changes fans are making to the Titan, I'd bet my left elbow that Nissan just may keep these new innovations once our veterans get back from their adventures. I'm looking at you 2016 model.
Check out the video below to see all the cool additions the Titan is getting, and be sure to visit the Project Titan Facebook page to cast your vote on what will be the best tools and features our vets will need as they make their way into the Alaskan wilderness.
