2022 Nissan Frontier

What's New for the 2022 Nissan Frontier?

Nissan has chosen 2022 as the model year to overhaul its Frontier, the brand's flagship midsize pickup truck. The Frontier keeps all of its fan-favorite features from the past, including strong performance credentials and a comfortable interior. The Frontier also has good power and tow ratings among vehicles in its class. The 2022 Frontier is anticipated for release during the summer of 2021, but it is already causing a stir.

There are many goods to look forward to with the refreshed Frontier, no matter which trim level you get. The Frontier family has four trims this year now that a new, more rugged, and off-road-oriented trim called the Pro-4X joins the lineup. Class-leading storage capacity is now provided in the Frontier with a redesigned center console that holds all your belongings. The Frontier is the safest model yet, and one of the safest pickup trucks available, with the addition of more driver-assist safety technology and Trailer Sway Control.

Which Features Are Available for 2022?

Even if you get the base trim of the Frontier, which is the S, you won't be disappointed with the features included. Everyone can ride more comfortably in the Frontier this year, which adds exceptionally soft, comfortable, and airy Zero Gravity seats in both rows. The base level begins with a generous technology package that includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with an eight-inch touchscreen interface.

You can also upgrade to a larger and more advanced infotainment system with a nine-inch display screen on the SV trim level, adding to the new panoramic trail camera. The Frontier is also available with a 110V power outlet, a Fender Premium Audio system, and WiFi. Moving up to the Pro-X adds heated seats, fog lights, and a roof rack. Bilstein shocks, custom tires, alloy wheels, and a leather-wrapped dashboard highlight the new Pro-4X trim.

Nissan Frontier Performance

The Nissan Frontier returns in 2022 with the same engine from 2021, a V6 with a displacement of 3.8L. The Nissan's engine cranks out slightly more than 300 HP in power. The truck can still pull 6,720 pounds for 2022, but it increases its payload by 160 pounds to a total of 1,610. The Nissan has a smooth-shifting automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard with the Pro-4X.

Safety Features in the Forefront for 2022

Every Frontier now includes eight cabin airbags and Trailer Sway Control. Nissan's advanced Safety Shield 360 suite with six driver-assist safety aids and automatic high beams is optional.
