Performance
The 2021 LEAF S base model is fully powered by an electric motor that's rated at 110 kW. In terms of conventional mechanical ratings, this electric powertrain delivers 147 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. Having a capacity of 40 kWh, a lithium-ion battery also propels this entry-level trim. The SV Plus edition is driven by an electric motor that produces an additional 50 kW. You'll appreciate the 214-hp mechanical rating of this high-output motor, which also claims a torque rating of 250 lb-ft. This high-level model is equipped with an Li-ion battery that stores up to 62 kWh of electrical energy. Both 2021 LEAF trims come with an onboard charger that draws up to 6.6 kW. Rated at 50 kW, the Quick Charge Port is optional on the S edition. Compatible with 120-volt outlets, a portable trickle-charge works with this entry-level model. Standard on the SV Plus, the Quick Charge Port handles up to 100 kW. Compatible with 240-volt outlets, a portable charge cable is standard on this high-end trim. Both electric hatchbacks have a single-speed reduction gear and the regenerative braking system. Additionally, these efficient Nissan cars can run on the Eco Mode and B-Mode.
Appearance
In terms of their exterior profiles, the 2021 LEAF S and SV Plus have nearly identical appearances. The entry-level model is equipped with halogen headlights and a charging port with lights and locks. Inside the cabin, this base trim has two cup holders and four bottle holders. A six-way driver's bucket seat is installed inside this electric Nissan car. You'll get an eight-way, power-adjustable driver's seat in the SV Plus. Both efficient hatchbacks include 60-40 rear seats with a folding option. Some exterior colors that are available for both models include Deep Blue Pearl and Super Black.
Features
The NissanConnect infotainment system comes with an 8-inch touch screen in the 2021 LEAF. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay portals are standard in this signature multimedia suite. The SV Plus has several technological upgrades, including the Door to Door Navigation and NissanConnect EV Services. This high-level model also includes a six-speaker sound system with SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
