The best-selling Nissan Murano has added yet another prestigious award to its extensive collection. Beating out four competitors for Cars.com and MotorWeek's “Best Midsize SUV of 2016," the Murano once again proved that it is like no other family SUV in its segment.

"SUVs are the family vehicle of choice in 2016, and the midsize category is one of the most popular with shoppers. This class of vehicles remains incredibly competitive, so we want to give shoppers a clear understanding of the best, worst and each option's value proposition," said Cars.com Editor-in-Chief Patrick Olsen.

The 2016 Nissan Murano faced off against the Ford Edge, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Sante Fe Sport. All five SUVs went through a rigorous process which tested their functionality, real-world fuel economy and overall driving experience. Inside the cabin, design, comfort and convenience were important factors. Judging alongside the experienced staff at Cars.com and MotorWeek was a real family shopping for their next midsize SUV, so kid-friendliness was also taken into high consideration. Naturally, the Murano excelled in all of these areas.

"The Murano is the closest option to a luxury SUV in this group, with a level of cabin materials and styling flair that's largely missing among the others," said Patrick Olsen. "The Murano's high points extend beyond its quality interior. The SUV is packed with technology and family-friendly features, and thanks to its V-6 power, the Murano is a blast to drive."

The Nissan Murano is the total package, and all the features on the 2016 model carry over to the 2017 Murano. Attractively styled inside and out, the midsize SUV is equipped with amenities that rival those in luxury vehicles. An 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated and ventilated seats, a power panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, ambient lighting and a surround view camera are just a few of the many available creature comforts. The Murano is also outfitted with the latest technology, including an 8-inch touchscreen interface with NissanConnect and an 11-speaker Bose Sound System.

Under the hood lies the highly-rated 3.5-liter V6 and Xtronic CVT duo, which makes 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the Murano can be had with a variety of drive-assist technologies, which you can learn more about when you test drive one today at Reliable Nissan!
