Nissan's flagship sedan, Maxima, will now come equipped with Apple CarPlay for its 2017 model year. Nissan is adopting the popular technology that many customers have come to love.
The smartphone connectivity feature first debuted last year, with new car shoppers loving the opportunity to fully integrate their smartphones into their cars. For this upcoming model year, the 2017 Maxima will feature CarPlay, as well as an 8-inch touchscreen display that will feature NissanConnect.
Other models which might also be getting CarPlay this year include the Murano crossover, as well as the Altima and Rogue following in the next few years. And not to worry Android users, Nissan has said that Android Auto is also coming to its NissanConnect infotainment system, rounding out its offerings to users of both popular smartphones.
According to a Nissan press release, in addition to Apple CarPlay, the sedan will play host to “two front illuminated USB connection ports for iPod®interface and other compatible devices, Nissan Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, SiriusXM® Traffic™ and SiriusXM® Travel Link™, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth® and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant.”
