With gas prices on the rise, fuel efficiency is an important element to have in a vehicle, and if you ask Edmunds.com, Nissan has some of the most fuel-efficient trucks on the market. The company recently released a list of the "Top 9 Most Fuel Efficient Trucks for 2014" and Nissan had not only one, but two trucks on this list: the 2014 Frontier and Titan. The trucks beat out many of today's most-popular pickups to earn a spot on the list, and if you're a proud owner of one of these models, you know the honor is well-deserved.
Achieving an estimated 21 mpg combined highway/city fuel economy, the Nissan Frontier earned the number two spot on Edmund's creditable list; the Nissan Titan, producing an estimated 15 mpg combine highway/city fuel economy, came in at number nine. You can view the complete list online to see what other popular truck models made the final cut, and discover addtional information about each vehicle.
"People have associated pickup trucks with low gas mileage for many years, but we're defeating that stereotype," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. "We've worked hard to produce pickups that not only provide excellent towing capability and ample cargo space, but also impressive fuel efficiency. This recognition by Edmunds validates our efforts to make fuel efficiency a priority across all platforms, from sedans to pickups."
