The Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival is coming back to the ABQ. One of the most popular annual festivals in Albuquerque, the Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival features a celebration of Celtic culture that includes traditional Celtic games, foods, history and music.

Among the many events at this year’s festival will be the Highland Celtic Games, a rugby tournament, bagpipe displays and several events for the kids. One of the most popular events will also be returning: Irish and Scottish dancing!

According to the event’s website, “Scottish Highland Dancing is a celebration of the Scottish spirit. The dances are a spectacular combination of movement, music, and costume. They are generally danced solo, and in competition the music is typically a tune on the bagpipes. The dances are great fun and anyone, not just with a Scottish heritage, who thrills to the sound of the bagpipes, can join in and learn the dances.”

We are very excited to see this fantastic family event come back to Albuquerque. To find out more about the Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival, visit their event website here. We hope you’ll join your neighbors this month to celebrate all things Celtic!
