Nissan is giving auto insiders and enthusiasts a little taste of the future in their new Sway concept. Debuting at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the concept car features an arresting design that is based off of a hatchback model, but with a futuristic twist.
Looking at the Sway’s exterior, the car has a gorgeous arching hood and a V-shaped grille that makes it look almost like a spaceship. It features LED headlights, as well as several orange accents around the car’s air intakes. The car’s interior looks to be a mix of the modern and the futuristic. Sporting a panoramic glass roof and a very high-reaching windshield, the concept speaks to a future moment when cars will be more “airy” and fluid. Two simple gauges appear behind the steering wheel, while a tablet takes center-stage on the car’s dash.
"We believe that the Sway continues our tradition of challenging the status quo in market segments by bringing something fresh, distinctive and striking, much as we did with Qashqai and Juke,” said Shiro Nakamura, Senior Vice President, Design and Chief Creative Officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. "With this new concept car for Geneva, we are experimenting to see how Nissan might be able to bring fresh ideas to the compact hatchback segment.”
The Sway may soon reach production, though only for a European market at first. For now, take a look at this fantastic new concept and dream about what the future holds for the automotive world.
