NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps has been crowned the winner of this year's Industry Newcomer Award presented during Telematics Detroit, one of the world's largest conferences focused on the development of connected auto mobility. The official announcement was made during the event's 10th Annual Update Awards, which practiced live audience voting to gather ballots for the prestigious award. Eight other nominees were also up for the accolade, but in the end, NissanConnectSM received 24-percent of the overall votes, surpassing the competition.

A telematics system offered across Nissan's innovative lineup, NissanConnectSM gives drivers the ability to stay connected while on the go. It's accessible through a 5-inch, 5.8-inch or 7-inch display and comes with a range of features, such as Bluetooth hands-free calling, hands-free text messaging, voice recognition, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and navigation, along with popular mobile apps, including Pandora, Facebook and iHeartRadio. Through the use of these hands-free components, drivers can utilize some of their favorite functions while keeping their eyes on the road, eliminating distractions and increasing safety.
