There’s plenty to do and see at Summerfest, starting with the Route 66 Car Show. An annual favorite among festival-goers, the show spans Central Avenue between Girard and Carlisle and features a variety of classic hot rods and muscle cars.

In addition to the car show, attendees can also snack at the food trucks, relax in the beer garden, peruse the Mother Road Art Market or jam out to live music at three different stages. A great selection of local talent will be playing throughout the event, capped off by the multiple Grammy Award-winning rock band Los Lobos (“Come On, Let’s Go,” “La Bamba”).

This local summer festival is also super family-friendly, so don’t hesitate to bring the whole family along! Kiddos of all ages are sure to find all the thrills they need at the Kid’s Zone, which has everything from bounce houses and face-painting to a 25-foot rock climbing wall.

As we mentioned above, admission to Route 66 Summerfest is completely free and open to the public. Additional details, including parking information, can be found on the City of Albuquerque’s website.
